Mega Evolution (Japanese: メガシンカ Mega Evolution) in simple terms, is a transformative state in which a Pokémon (seen in the list below) can temporarily change into a stronger version of its original form. This can lead to a change in type, ability, overall design and, most notably to stats - which of course makes a different in competitive play. The Mega Evolution concept was first introduced in Pokémon X and Y that affects certain Pokémon. 


There are currently 46 species of Pokémon that are capable of Mega Evolution, and there are currently 48 different Mega Evolutions, with Charizard and Mewtwo currently having 2 designs corresponding to both X and Y. The concept will be re-introduced into the series for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. List as follows:
