Pokémon Legends: Z-A, is the second Pokémon Legends game in the entire series. It is an ambitious new entry to the Pokémon video game series, which will be released simultaneously worldwide on Nintendo Switch in 2025.
An exciting new adventure awaits players within Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon. Please look forward to seeing it for yourself. At the end of the announcement trailer, a teaser logo for Mega Evolution was shown, and confirmed that the mechanic will be returning for the first time in a mainline game since Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!
Our Information Hub of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, sections have now been published which will feature new:
And other areas have now been added to our database. It should be acknowledged that the Z-A features the colours Red and Blue in the dash, seemingly corresponding to the Legendary box duo Xerneas and Yveltal, which are mascots in Pokémon X and Y.

Generation 5
Generation 6
The story is set in Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon. Compared to Lumiose City as it appeared in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games, released in 2013, more greenery now adorns the city, alongside facilities with a cutting-edge feel.
In Lumiose City, spaces frequented by people—such as shopping arcades, cafés, and restaurants—coexist with more natural areas, such as waterfronts and verdant parks. At the centre of Lumiose stands Prism Tower, the very symbol of the city.
The Story Begins with a Sightseeing Trip to Lumiose City, while visiting Lumiose City during your travels, you’ll come to stay in an old hotel named Hotel Z. This hotel will serve as your base as you and the new friends you’ll meet in Lumiose tackle all sorts of incidents that will occur in the city.
As part of Lumiose’s urban redevelopment plan, driven by a large corporation called Quasartico Inc., the city has been outfitted with “wild zones” in an effort to help humans and Pokémon share the city. These areas are constructed using cutting-edge technology to give Pokémon places to live. Within wild zones, you can battle Pokémon and catch them by throwing Poké Balls.
You can catch wild Pokémon living in wild zones or out and about in Lumiose City by aiming a Poké Ball at them and letting it fly. If the Pokémon doesn’t pop back out of the ball, you’ve successfully caught it! Some Pokémon will flee immediately if they spot you, so hide out of sight or approach from behind to make yourself harder to notice. You can also battle Pokémon to lower their HP, making them easier to catch.
Rogue Mega Evolution Disturbs the Peace
A strange phenomenon dubbed Rogue Mega Evolution—in which wild Pokémon Mega Evolve on their own—has begun to occur in Lumiose City. Ordinarily, a Trainer would have a Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving hold a Mega Stone, and the Pokémon would then be able to Mega Evolve if it has a strong bond with its Trainer. However, some Pokémon in Lumiose have been undergoing Rogue Mega Evolution and going on rampages—seemingly in pain.
Quasartico Inc., the corporation driving Lumiose City’s redevelopment, will task you and the rest of Team MZ with aiding their investigation into these strange occurrences. Work together with your friends from Team MZ to take on and calm a variety of Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon. You can also obtain Mega Stones by pacifying Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
Team MZ: Protecting the Peace in Lumiose City
After proving your Pokémon battle skills to either Urbain or Taunie, who acts as a live-in staff member at Hotel Z, you’ll join Team MZ, a crew that aims to keep Lumiose a peaceful place. Other members of Team MZ include Lida, who aims to become a professional dancer, and Naveen, a fashion designer in the making. You’ll adventure alongside them throughout Lumiose City.
Your new friend—either Urbain or Taunie—lives and works at Hotel Z, supporting the owner however they can. They may come on strong at times, but they like helping people and Pokémon. You’ll find they’re quite skilled at Pokémon battles too. The appearance you choose for yourself at the beginning of the game will determine which of these two characters you’ll meet during your travels.
Obtain Mega Stones in the Z-A Battle Club’s Ranked Battles
The Mega Stones required to Mega Evolve Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja can be obtained from the the Z-A Battle Club as rewards for battling other Trainers in online Ranked Battles. Ranked Battles offer three types of rewards: battle rewards obtainable after each battle, promotion rewards obtainable upon rising in rank, and season rewards—which vary by rank—obtainable at the end of each season. Keep battling and refining your skills to try to get a variety of rewards. Mega Stones for Mega Chesnaught (Season 3), Mega Delphox (Season 2), and Mega Greninja (October 16th) can only be obtained as rewards for being promoted up the ranks.
